Oh that preaching in America would be this bold!  I just love it when preachers preach uncompromisingly, unafraid to speak truth, unhindered by what people think about them.

When you take a look at American Christianity, it is based more upon a Godless culture than it is upon the Word of God.

The greatest heresy in the American evangelical and Protestant church is that if you pray and ask Jesus Christ to come into your heart He will definitely come in.

Salvation is by faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ! And Faith alone in Jesus Christ is preceded and followed by repentance! A turning away from sin, a hatred for the things that God hates and a love for the things that God loves! A growing in Holiness!

Ah Yes... Paul Washer.  I heard him a while back.  His preaching is a true blessing.  Gotta listen to C.J. Mahaney as well.

Straight-forward preaching like this won't win any mega-church campuses. But it may win souls.

Similarly, with a penchant toward political correctness it seems many pastors have lost the courage of "direct speak". After all, it's not difficult to offend someone, somewhere, most of the time in our radically pluralistic culture, of which the Church is a part. Therefore, pastors shy away from "speaking to" others and opt for "speaking about" others in an indirect, third-person kind of way. Of course, this allows the congregants to deflect from and instead project on someone other than themselves. What if we listened with the idea that it was the Almighty God speaking directly to us when the sermon is delivered?

"Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches." (Rev. 3:13)

Rich Stearns, President of World Vision USA just published a searing critique of USA Christianity in his "The Hole In The Gospel" (  www.theholeinthegospel.com ).  I highly recommend the book, as an explanation of where Christianity in the USA 'went wrong'.
